CARMEN DRESS – 1950’s SEWING PATTERN – UK 10 ONLY
DESCRIPTION:
This sewing pattern was originally designed and made for a wedding. A friend of mine wanted something unique, delicate and reminiscent of the 1950’s. it was designed and pattern cut in a generic UK10 and then altered to fit her perfectly. The pattern in this download is the original UK size 10 without any bespoke changes.
The finished dress was constructed from a sand-washed, pastel blue satin and looked gorgeous. Its main design feature is a vertical pleat placed just over the bust. It’s a lovely feature as it turns the only dart on the front into a design feature, making the whole dress look seamless.
I recommend adding a petticoat and a thin belt to continue that 1950’s flare.
