 RACHEL GOLD – FASHION STYIST

I’ m Loving her work, would love to work wth this lady…

Check out her biography below

I can’t actually remember the precise moment years ago that I knew I had found my true calling.

One thing I do know is that everytime I get a job I am filled with excitement and anticipation.

I love to style celebrities, commercials, jewellery and music video’s.

I am good at finding locations and matching teams I write for a few magazines, so it’s great fun to be able write about what I love at the same time as styling the images.

Ever since I was a small girl I used to dress anything or anyone that moved, including the family dog! I used to style the rooms and change the furniture around constantly, much to every-one’s annoyance. So I suppose it’s no surprise that I have ended up as a stylist.

Styling is my passion. I have worked in New York, LA, Paris, Switzerland, and many other European Countries.

I have compiled some of my favourite images for my portfolio and hope you like looking at them as much as I have liked creating them.

I am inspired everyday by beautiful things around me and Halston, Azzadine Alaia, Chanel and so many more.

Please feel free to get in touch.

Rach

Unfortunately there is not much information i could find out about Catherine but the following is taken from whitezine website: http://www.whitezine.com/en/photography/catherine-pluchart.html

Catherine Pluchart: started artistic studies at 14. A couple years later (she’s 33 now) she became a successful photographer, evolving in the fashion and portraits industry. Catherine was born in brussels but now lives in Toulouse, France.

Samantha Cole…..

What can I say… apart from O.M.G!! This lady is seriously talented her work is absolute perfection. The cut and silhouette of these garments are phenomenal… Conceptual design at its best – so simple but so amazingly powerful.

Damn you Miss Cole :)

The following is a Snippet from TRENDLAND:

Samantha Cole London is an Award winning Contemporary British designer. She received Best Womenswear Designer at NY Fashion Week for her ss09 collection. Cole draws influence from modern day trends (Geometric Architecture…) without completely relying on it for the direction and purpose of her collections. Definitely a designer to watch!

WOW…. What an amazingly atmospheric start to this music vid! totally awesome. She knows exactly what she’s doing!

I’d love to be involved in set production!  think of the awesome corsetry you could do and get away with!

I stumbled across this guy, due to his comment on my “digital pattern cutting tutorial.” He suggested an excellent plugin for Ai that allows you to measure the length of a curved line – Very handy for armholes etc. So a huge thank you for that!

But looking at his site/ portfolio, he has done some really amazing work for some really cool designers, including the high street! So i thought i would turn the link into a media article. So check out his site! some awesome work!

My aim is making fashion designer’s dreams come true…

Many designers have a lot of stunning visions on their sketchbooks. But if their technical skills are not good enough here i am to help them.

Path-mode provides pattern cutting expertise and advice to fashion designers, enabling them to put their drawings into reality. Path-mode is focused on one-to-one collaborations and delivers service from making patterns towards the finished garment. We do “one off” collections and can handle “small runs”. Path mode is pleased to offer bespoke tailoring service. We are fully concerned about high-quality and perfectly made garments. In the very near future Path-mode will present the offer of clothes designing on commission and for special events.

Path-mode will be providing its own unique style of clothes according to requirements and needs of its clients.

Wow….. If ever there was a site that was simplistic in form, luxurious in content and felt like a vintage channel jacket this blog would be it!

The Style Rookie has managed to perfect the bloggers experience with this beautifully put together blog. Voted in the Guardian as number one of the top ten Fashion/ lifestyle blogs, please check it out, you ain’t seen nothin like it!

Article posted by the Guardian:

Tavi Gevinson Tavi-thenewgirlintown.blogspot.com

The place to start. It follows the typical format: straight-up photos of the blogger, scans of fashion shoots and vintage magazines, all captioned with chirpy commentary. Fashion has fallen for 13-year-old Gevinson in a big way; the little Chicagoan can also fill you in on what it’s like to model for the Rodarte label or grace the cover of Pop magazine. Some “proper” style journalists have expressed disbelief that a child has produced such informed fashion reports. As if you need a doctorate to be enthusiastic about clothes.

GLITTERBALL MAGAZINE – MICHELLE WINTER

I stumbled upon this late one night a week or two ago, and was so impressed by the quantity and quality of work produced that I had to post it. It’s designed and produced by Michelle Winter (great name for running a fashion Mag’ – if it’s real) who has put together a monthly online magazine focusing on art, beauty, fashion, music, travel and photography, with loads of articles and fantastic graphic art. This is a girl after my own heart… please check it out!!

Keep up the awesome work Michelle.

James Tye:

I actually know this guy, although haven’t spoken to him in some time. In the years I’ve known him I’ve never seen his work. I found this site on the off chance and had a flick through…It safe to say I have seriously fallen in love with almost all the images I found. He’s a real artistic photographer with a fantastic ability to find the extraordinary in real life. I am no expert but I think the work is wonderful!

Check out his work… Really nice stuff!

CREATING CONTEMPORARY ANTIQUES

A MUST SEE…. FOR COOL, COLOURFUL, CUTTING EDGE, INTERIOR TEXTILES & DESIGN

Zara Siddiqui-Lester is the brains behind the colour union, an innovative company that produces bespoke textiles and furnishings and zany original art

Zara Siddiqui-Lester is founder and designer at The Colour Union.

Zara is an iconoclastic designer (one of the industries unsung heroes, Selvedge Magazine)

with an inexhaustible source of ideas. Her work is not just a style but an attitude to life and creativity. She is fascinated by the interplay of mixing colours and the visual impact her designs create. ‘The Colour Union’ is true to its name with Zara’s trade mark

uninhibited use of colour combinations and eclectic imagery. Colour has been proven to have positive effects on mood, energy and morale and Zara’s aim is that her zany work provides some colour therapy to her customers whilst adding humour and drama to soulless spaces. ‘Creating contemporary Antiques’ is the company ‘tag’!

“I want to mix the old fashion tradition of products lovingly hand-made with the ‘state of the art’ innovation of digital printing. My work is all about contradiction”

Zara has distilled a lifetime of experience and reflection into three definitive collections all demonstrating an expressive use of colour, type, space and bold pattern.

The Beta Fashion project was launched with the goal of creating unique and affordable clothing for fashion forward individuals. We have established a new model for the fashion design process – contemporary fashion created on an open platform in collaboration with designers from around the world. More than just a fashion label, we wanted to start a new design initiative that would change the way fashion is created and consumed.

It is our belief that fashion should be as exciting to create as it is to wear. We give a voice to emerging and established designers by offering them an opportunity to participate in our design projects. This platform is available for the entire Beta Fashion community to view, comment and help decide which designs will become reality. In doing so we break away from the physical restrictions of a traditional studio environment, opening up a world of possibilities for our fashion and those who contribute to its creation.

Our skilled design team has developed clean, sophisticated key pieces which utilise our growing collection of print to its full potential. We want to offer women exciting, forward, yet wearable fashion, available in limited editions. A good print speaks volumes and when produced to the highest standard can transform well-cut shapes into pieces of exceptional beauty. An item bought from Beta Fashion is a truly unique piece of designer fashion but at an affordable price, with the money being used to nurture an ever-growing talent pool.

John John Jesse is an illustrative painter from New York City‘s Lower East Side in the Juxtapozgonzo-pop vein. He often shows with artists like Esao Andrews. Jesse has cited Gustav Klimpt, Carravagio, Béla Iványi-Grünwald, and Mark Ryden as influences

He painted the girls he grew up with, citing the punk lifestyle of girls and drugs. Most of the people featured in his work are friends of his. They are generally nude or partially disrobed, in situations that are both fantastical and gritty. Jesse has, to date, two self declared series of renderings. The first consisting of black & white drawings he calls the “Baby Demonica” series and the second, full color paintings he calls the “Demonica Erotica” series.

Jesse also played bass in the New York Crust punk band Nausea and designed posters and album art for bands like Agnostic Front. He is a former guitar player for the band Morning Glory.

We work together to take art out of the gallery and into the city – where it reaches and entertains a much broader swathe of society. Our governing principle began with Joe Rush and the Mutoid Waste Company – we mix art into a bigger event and make sure everyone enjoys it.
